Asia Contemporary Art Review: Art at Linden Gate

Art at Linden Gate was established in 1989 by Ernst Fries who moved to the Yarra Valley, just an hour from Melbourne, Victoria, in search of new inspirations. He designed the gallery to take full advantage of the long views to the mountains. Ernst’s philosophy for the gallery was to provide a holistic experience for both artists and visitors and the many windows provide natural light to complement the artwork and frame the views which are artworks themselves.

The gallery holds regular exhibitions by artists from many backgrounds and disciplines and at differing stages of their careers, many of who are local. Ernst Fries’ larger stainless steel, concrete and glass sculptures are displayed about the property and are available for sale and the gallery periodically exhibits Ernst’s smaller, indoor pieces.
